Creepy Crawlers, Goop Wanted!

This is perhaps off topic from this months theme, but I can't wait any longer to share.

I finally visited the Sandy City DI again after what feels like years. All of my greatest hauls have been found at the Sandy DI and it's the DI I grew up with. So, before ado is in any way furthered, behold....(cue theme song)

CREE-E-E-EPY CRAWLERS!!!!

Gotta love that box art!

WHAT, 3 dollars!? That literally costs less than my bull cut and my turtle neck combined!

The first 2 molds included in the box are from the Incredible Intersects mold set, including the Crustachipeed, Protoslug, Arachydite, and Arachyrang.

The other 2 molds include you classic, run of the mill Creepies. These are the only ones I ever remember making as a kid.

I absolutely love the colors on this oven! Pure 90's magic.

The bulb is still good!

List of reasons these aren't made anymore.

This coupon is still good!

The only thing I am missing is some good old goop. According to my research (Google) there are 2 main sources of goop currently:                Dr. Goop and Patti-Goop.

Frank at LittleWeirdos.net had the foresight to save his Creepies, whereas I lost every last one.

The last and final ingredient I need is some goop. Does anyone have some goop lurking in their closets that they'd like to send? I'll make some Creepies for you if you send some! The same goes for spare metal molds.

Did you ever make Creepies as a kid? Do you still have them? Which ones are your favorites?

  1. These are a little past my childhood years but my youngest cousin had these at some point am sure.

    1. This was the exact "Magic Maker" oven I had as a kid in the 90's. The first "Thing Maker" came out in 1964, so it's awesome that it kept going for as long as it did! There are modern no-bake versions of Creepy Crawlers makers today, but the resulting Creepies are terrible.

    1. Love the commercials! I still have that theme song stuck in my head, but I don't mind it. :)

  3. I loved Creepy Crawlers! My dad always talked about them from when he was a kid (would have been the 1964 release, probably) so when they made their resurgence in the early 90s I got an oven for Christmas! I can\t remember how many times I burned myself on these but they were great fun!

My favorite set was the monster set with the Skeleton coming out from behind a graveyard. I remember making these and showing them off and trading with friends at school. Very fun stuff. I'd love to have an oven again!

    1. It's a pretty sweet concept for a toy. What kid doesn't wanna create his own little toys!?

I never had the monster set, it sounds awesome! We just had the standard set of spider, earthworm, etc.

I'm such a tightwad that I don't think I will ever cough up the money to buy goop so I can make some Creepies, which makes this kind of worthless. I'm am considering selling it to someone that will get some use out of it.
