Since we've already pretty much covered our bases with the Monsters, I'd like to introduce Blue team and Red team of the Robot-Ninja universe, by Blip Toys.
The interesting thing with the NvR pack is the color change. With the MvM pack the monsters are clearly Team Hot Pink and Military is Team Classic Army Men Green. NvR changed things up and made both Team Blueberry and Team Blood Red half robot, half ninja! Check it out!
It was hard to get a good picture with these bright red figs. |
These 2 Halo sculpts are practically the same. |
If I had to choose favorites my first choice would have to be the Samus-Style Megaman on Team Blue!
There are a few subtle differences, like a three-barreled gun on the left hand instead of the right, and a slightly different suit style, but this is clearly Samus Aran. Pretty cool!
And my runner-up is Vega, from Street Fighters! That's 3 knock off video game character sculpts in one tube of NvR. The set of 96 figures cost me just 5 bucks. That's like a nickel a piece! Sure, they're cheap, but man are they awesome! I don't shop at Target very often, but when I do it's because I heard about an awesome toy like this. So go raid your local Target today! I in no way represent Target stores or its affiliates.
Has anyone else come across these amazing toys? Are there any other Army Men style toys you'd like me to know about? Please let me know!
Excellent review Mason! I hope grab this set next.
ReplyDeleteThanks John! I hope you can find a set. :)
DeleteThese guys are pretty neat! You probably already know about Galaxy Laser Team and the Big Bucket of Zombies, those are the only ones coming to mind at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThey're pretty fun, I like them. I have heard of Galaxy Lazer team and I'd love to get my hand on some of them, especially that turtle-alien guy. I haven't heard of Big Bucket of Zombies. I looked 'em up and they look rad! They'd be the perfect addition to my Halloween town I plan to put together next month. Thanks for the heads up!
DeleteFun stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love 'em! Makes me wanna fork over the cash for that big awesome chunk of plastic that is Battle Mountain!
Deletejust bought them tonight.took going to 4 target stores to find the robots vs ninjas
ReplyDeleteWow, now that's dedication! I had to visit a couple Yarget stores before I found the NvR and the Military Vs Monsters. Did you find the MvM set as well? It's fun to use the Samus and Master Chief figs with te Xenomorphs from the MvM set.
DeleteUntil Target restocks, I am resigned to supporting American enterprise on Ebay!
ReplyDeleteSometimes that's how the cookie crumbles, that I hate to pay for shipping. It looks like they restock fairly often, so you may be able to avoid eBay. Either way I hope you find some. Good luck!
DeleteI have 1 of each set, there awesome..when I got them it was the last 2, but I went today again and they had around 4. It had only been like 2 weeks so they definitally restock pretty regularly
ReplyDeleteThat's good news. That means eBay scalpers are out of luck on this one. The next sensation from Blip Toys to look out for are the Slimy Sludge Rot Zombies and Sludge Monsters, in the same bargain toy sections at a Target near you!
DeleteEbay scalpers is RIGHT! twenty bucks for 192 pieces STILL isn't too bad, though ...
ReplyDeleteJust search ''Warriors Monsters Vs Military & Ninjas vs Robots'' and buy a toob or two.
Man, I hate them eBay scalpers! I wanted to buy a bucket of HING FAT/FISHEL: Terrible Monster / Monsters & Goblins, but it's so stinking expensive and it has horse drawn pioneer wagons as filler! Amazon has come down on their price by half though. Eventually them scalpers have to come down on their price because people will only pay so much.
DeleteGood luck, I hope you find some at a reasonable price! I have actually been trading and giving these little guys to friends.
