Ernest Scared Stupid - Opening Credits Movie Challenge

It's no secret that I love Ernest, and Ernest Scared Stupid is my favorite movie from the series.  The opening credits sequence is fantastic!  It features Ernest reacting to various classic, open source, sci-fi and horror film clips.  As a kid I always wondered what movies these clips were from.  Now I know, and I want to watch them all before Halloween 2019!  Won't you join me?

Videos featured:
1. Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922) -WATCHED
2. White Zombie (1932)
3. Phantom from Space (1953) WATCHED
4. The Brain from Planet Arous (1957)
5. The Screaming Skull (1958) - WATCHED
6. Missile to the Moon (1958)
7. The Hideous Sun Demon (1959)
8. The Giant Gila Monster (1959) - WATCHED
9. The Killer Shrews (1959) - WATCHED
10. Nebo Zovyot (1960)
11. The Little Shop of Horrors (1960) - WATCHED Some of these I may watch the SM3K versions, if available on Netflix or somewhere else, and call it good. I have seen Nosferatu, though it has been a while. Have you seen any of these films? What did you think of them? Are there any films featured here that I forgot to mention? Who's the random guy at 1:07?

Update: I am updating this post as I watch the movies. So far Nosferatu is the best by far, followed by Little Shop of Horrors. I doubt the rest will dethrone Nosferatu as my favorite, but we shall see what the sci-fi horror movie are like.

  1. Honestly, I haven't ever seen this film. Was never a big Ernest fan. People do have some love for it, so maybe I should give it a go.

    1. There is something about Jim Varney. He is such a funny guy, and you can really tell he's pure of heart. It's crazy to think that the whole Ernest persona started out doing dairy commercials before the TV show and movies hit the scene.

If nothing else, it is a fun watch for the nostalgia factor and cheesy goodness. And speaking of dairy, milk plays a big role in the plot of the film.

    2. Have you seen any of the B Movies featured in the opening credits? I am only really familiar with Nosferatu and Little Shop of Horrors.

    3. White Zombie features Bela Lugosi, and I am wondering if the others are all the level of that, where it was cheap (or free) to use the clips.

    4. I think all those movies are in the public domain, so it was free to use those clips.
