The Minimalist Game & Founding of Space M's Toy Store

Remember Derek's ETs? I'm gonna totally copy cat him, but with Toy Story alien guys!

So you may have heard about the Minimalist Games that are going on right now on Instagram if you follow Laura of Boo Bobby and Brian "The Trash Man" of Pop Pop! It's Trash Culture. I got the idea from The Minimalists. (Check out the link HERE to see how the game works) You can follow me (@spacemason) on Instagram and follow along with The Minimalist Game. You should also follow Laura (@boobobby82) and Brian (@itstrashculture). The daily posts are marked with #theminimalistgame.

Ava keeps running off with everything I keep trying to keep take cute little pictures of and get rid of.

I am rather enjoying lightening my load of access stuff and I've even given away a few goodies to fellow Instagramers and bloggers, as well as asked for a few things that Brian and Laura were sending off into the world. Good times! I have also decided to try selling and trading my little treasures via Instagram. Search #SpaceMsToyStore to see what I have to sell and/or trade! Instagram's turning out to be a great way to meet even more amazing, generous people. So if you haven't tried it out yet, give it a shot. I give it 4 stars!

Samurai Jack SEASON 2!!!

FINALLY!!! Netflix brings us season 2 of Samurai Jack! It's a good thing I watched season 1 while it lasted, because Netflix pulled season 1 and replaced it with season 2. I don't get you Netflix.

So, go watch Samurai Jack season 2 on Netflix! That is all. Lazy blogging, I know. You'll thank me later.

Sunday Reflections: First World Problems

First World Problems, one of Weird Al's new song from his latest album Mandatory Fun, has really made me think twice about my seemingly catastrophic problems here in The Land of Opportunity. Plus, it blends the tunes of classic Pixies tracks. I love The Pixies, great band!

Sometimes we forget just how blessed we are as we whine about the little annoyances in life, not to trivialize legitimate problems of first-worlders.

Are you guilty of "first world problems"? What do you do to cope and brush of these petty problems?

Let your voice be heard in the comments below!

(Silly Vevo, the video won't embed properly. Watch it HERE)

Sunday Reflections: Thou Shalt Not Covet

I want stuff. Cool stuff. Not cars and mansions and Ski-Doos and crap like that. Mostly toys, awesome, amazing toys. Like this:

Source

If you follow my companion blog The Lunar City (which I don't think anyone does, but whatever, it's still a work in progress), then you know I'm freaking excited about the Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO sets that are coming out. My wife hates it when I make 3 dollar purchases at the DI or Goodwill, so I don't know how I'll ever justify buying these sets (for all 3 the total price would be $134.97, plus FREE shipping and a FREE Flashback Shredder minifigure! I could buy it all right now on LEGO's site! SO, TEMPTING!).

Do you ever feel guilty wanting awesome and amazing toys when you can buy more important and boring stuff like food and sectionals? Am I being a selfish turd? Let your voice be heard in the comments below!

Weird Al is so White and Nerdy

I just wanted to share this fun Weird Al music video I watched recently. I've always been a fan of Weird Al, but I wasn't following him too closely when this song was released.

Kinda makes me miss the short lived Weird Al show. Humanity just wasn't ready for it. Fat Man was ahead of his time.

If your interested in Weird Al's more recent work he makes an appearance on The Aquabats Super Show along with...Meg White? He's also been cartoonified by Doogtoons.

This is song's funny cuz it's true.

What's your favorite Weird Al song?

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch UHF again.

UPDATE:

My gosh, I forgot to mention Al TV! Watch it, it's hilarious!

The Goodwill is the Cat's Meow

I found a Batman Returns Catwoman at the Goodwill a while back for cheap! And the best part is she's complete!

These old 90s Batman movie figures always came with some bizarre weapons. I mean what the heck is this thing? It makes about as much sense as the Supermanmobile.

And of course you have a nice whipping action play feature. It kind of limits the 5 points of articulation even more, but it's alright I guess. She's a little hard to stand up too, she keeps falling over with the slightest breeze.

I guess it's a "Taser projectile"? That's a taser? What the wha?
The card provides a nice quick reference guide to all the other toys I need to find.

I know many find the Penguin Commandos to be pretty lame, but I think they're awesome!

Overall I'm quiet happy with Catwoman. Batman says he's worried, but I think he's pretty happy too.

Top 10 Fireworks

I haven't posted anything for a spell, so I just wanted to make a fun list of my top 10 favorite fireworks, based solely on the titles. The nice thing is if you're a fireworks fan you get to enjoy them even longer here in Utah because we celebrate Pioneer Day here on the 24th of July! Enjoy!

10.Tuff Stuff

Who is this mighty warrior that glides through the air on her mechanical flying lion? Who knows. Only one thing is sure, she's tuff stuff.

9.Show Me The Money

A visual reminder of how much money you're burning through. A top seller no doubt.

8.Bond

This firework must first be shaken, not stirred.

7.Dog House

Bob here reminds me of Elvis, which reminds me of the song Hound Dog.

6.Friendship Pagoda

This one looks pretty cool. It spins and as the fuse burns each level of the pagoda pops up. Not bad TNT.

5.Ground Bloom Flower

An old classic. Commonly tampered with to cause and explosion instead of simply spinning. We used to throw ours in water sometimes. We liked how it would gurgle and keeps spinning and burning.

4.Parachuters

We're gettin' down to the good stuff here, parachuters! What kid didn't love fighting over the parachute? I heard there are parachuters with actual army men attached instead of just the firework itself. Sweet!

3.Snakes

I loved these little molten poops as a kid! Such a strange firework. I don't know why that one pack is called "Glow Worms" when those are clearly snakes. Oh well.

And now, the number one firework, of all time, is, you guessed it..........

1.Tanks!

That little firework that could, the tank! I always stood in awe at these when I was a young lad! It moves along and fires at the same time! How can you top that!?

Did your favorite firecracker make the cut? No? Tell me about it in the comments below!

Well, that's all for today folks. Tune in next time as I recap Fantasy Con. I hope you had a great 4th of July!
