Box of Awesome Episode 2: GPK

I recently brought home an amazing toy haul from Capitol City Antique Mall. One of the vendors has a huge wooden chest stuffed full and everything is 50 cents. Usually there isn't much of note inside, but one day I came in and they were restocking and they had several boxes full of junk and I went a little crazy. I have decided to break up the madness into little themed episodes. Since this month is GPK, let's see what GPK junk I found:

There were only 2 GPK items in the bin o' junk, but they're real winners! 

 First up we have an absolute master piece. It's Mona Loser, a Garbage Pail Kids Pop-Up Toy by Imperial Toys!

Just perfect!

 At first I passed over the garbage pail and snatch up Mona. I later realized that they're a set and went back for the pail. The spring mechanism is missing and so is the lid, but she still looks just as lovely as ever outside of her trashy home.

Next, Garbage Pail Kids Stick-Ons!!! It's a real shame the stickers got a bit scrambled, because I would have liked to keep this sealed. Still, a great find for 50 cents! Let's zoom in.

The back of the back gave me several ideas to get started. I think these would make the perfect magnets. Just add some adhesive magnet sheets from the craft store and viola! 

Now who wants a GPK Sticker/Magnet for Valentine's Day?

UPDATE:

I carefully removed the staples and straightened the stickers that were out of place. Surprisingly they are still quite sticky. 

I believe I should return these to the package and save them for future posterity. 

New Kids in the Deck

My Garbage Pail Kids collection has been steadily growing lately. I just can't get enough of these cute little guys! Here are a few of my favorite newbies. 

On The First Day Of Creepmas...

Arachnids in a pine tree!

In November I celebrated my 30th Birthday with my whole family. It was a Halloween themed party and my family came bearing creepy gifts and Creepmas "ornaments" for the tree! It was a blast and I was overwhelmed by my family's kindness. My family has always gone with the overflowing, unmatchig look with tree decorating and this tree just oozes with random Creepmas cheer.

You can't tell from this picture, but there is a delicious pumpkin pie under that ball I flame. It's amazing how hot and bright 30 birthday candles can get!

I remember using my toys as extra decorations for our Christmas tree when I was a kid. The great thing about our first Creepmas tree is the fact that so many of my toys fit right in amongst its gnarled branches. So, just for fun, let's play Name That Creepmas Toy. The rules are simple, just see if you recognize who/what the toy is, what toy line it's from, etc.

I found this weird Bilbo Tarzan toy for 50 cents. He's Zindar, one of many cavemen from Playskool's 1987 Definitely Dinosaurs toy line. I had no idea Playskool made something like this. Strange, but cool!

Ha-ha! Have at you!

Foot Clan soldier based on one of the original TMNT movies. He's kinda goofy looking. I really like him and he was only 50 cents!

Mommy?

I found a new friend for Blobby. It's none other than Muck Man from the vintage TMNT line! Now I just need to find some Retromutagen Ooze. How did I not have this ooze as a kid? You pour the ooze into the opening in his head and the ooze flows out his mouth and gut! AWESOME! I need to make a video of that! 

I'm so confused here

Did I do this right? He looks...off.

I seem to find a lot of Transformers toys at the DI and I think I know why. They're cool and all, but MY GOSH, they're worse than Rubik's Cubes! They have like a million moving parts! I can never get them to transform fully. Now, my friend Landon, he's crazy about Transformers. He can also solve a Rubik's Cube in under a minute. Coincidence? Bonecrusher and Mudflap here were just 50 cents a pop. 

Lastly, I finally found a decent mug. Here we have the SR-71 Blackbird, the X-men's personal jet. Pretty cool and just 50 cents.

Transformers, More Than Meets The Eye

Great DI find here. Awesome vintage T-shirt featuring the Transformers logo, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and....I don't know who the other 2 are. I always was more of a G.I. Joe fan.  Don't get me wrong, Transformers are pretty sweet.  Does anyone know who the other Autobots are on this T-shirt? (Sorry if the picture isn't too clear)
