May is Z-Bots Month!

I'm just a tad late on this, but I have decided May just feels like Z-Bots month.

Z-Bots were produced by Galoob under the Micro Machines banner and my brother and I couldn't get enough of these little robot guys when we were kids! Some of the old Z-Bots collection is worse for wear, and many of my poor Z-Bots and Voids have been lost. I hope to slowly and frugally build a complete collection and I'm sure it will be a life long pursuit, as some figures are insanely rare.

If you are a Z-Bots fan then be sure to check out the Z-Bots Collectors Facebook Fan Page! Also, be sure to check out the Micro Machines Museum for an exhaustive checklist of all things Z-Bot!

Stay tuned this month for more Z-Bots goodness!

  1. Actually... I hate little one word comments on posts like that so:

Great idea! You're the one who got me interested in Z-Bots in the first place, though I am limiting my collection to the fast-food premiums only. I have 4 out of the set of 5 I have been looking for, and almost all of them have either been given to me by internet buds or found at Goodwill! So awesome.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the month!

    1. Haha, one liners are okay, though longer comments are nice.

Z-Bots seem to be a lesser known, underrated toy line, even though they were a pretty major toy line being Micro Machines and all. I wonder if it's the lack of a cartoon show. For me, no cartoon actually makes these a little cooler because I enjoyed creating my own back stories for all the characters when I played as a kid.

The fast food premium were really well done! I had 3 of the drill dude and one really beat up winged guy (can't even remember their names, lol!).

I hope to make some trades this month for some Z-Bots and if I find some good deals I may get some vehicles, who knows, we'll see. :)

  2. I come across Z-Bots on occasion, but generally ignore them. I'll start grabbing them if I can for ya.

    1. Oh man, for sure grab them! I never, ever see Z-Bots in the wild, ever! Thanks for keeping an eye out. :)

  3. I don't remember really collecting Z-Bots or the Micro Machine products, but I can see the appeal. I'm definitely a fan of Galoob though, since their responsible for the "Biker Mice from Mars" toy line. Happy hunting and like Eric said I'll keep my eyes peeled for you.

    1. Z-Bots are great! I have always liked minifigures, robots, and sci-fi, and they're the perfect combination of all 3! The fact that there was no cartoon hurt sales a bit, but I think that makes these little guys even more fun. There is a very vague story line and every bot is marked as either a Z-Bot (good guys) or as a Void (bad guys) and that's it. The rest is left up to your imagination!

Thank you for keeping an eye out! :)
