I came across a magazine that got me thinking,"Is my family prepared for the upcoming zombie apocalypse?"
It's a question we all ask ourselves at some point, but then we shrug it off and go about our daily lives. We never think it could happen a month later or even tomorrow, you never know. And if the next disaster isn't a zombie apocalypse we still need to be prepared for a full on alien invasion, Godzilla battle, or swarm of giant mosquitos. Do you have plenty of firearms and a stockpile of ammo? A bow-gun can be very useful, not only for selfdefense, but for hunting game. You can also reuse your bow-gun bolts, where as ammo isn't as easily renewable. A chainsaw serves a double purpose, obviously it's perfect for selfdefense, but it's also perfect for clearing and gathering wood. There are 1,001 implements that can used in a pinch. What is your weapon of choice?

Zombies are a big killer the first few days, but later starvation, thirst, exposure to the elements, insanity, and panic become the greater killers. Do you have a year supply of food and water? If there was no running water, no electricity, and the streets were flooded with the living dead, how long would you survive? I am nowhere near prepared, but reflecting upon the inevitability of such a plague motivates me to prepare, for my loved ones' sakes!
Are you prepared for the upcoming onslaught of the undead? What weapons would be interesting, if not useful? How have you prepared or how can you better prepare for this ultimate disaster? If we're instead faced with killer tomatoes or pod-people, what then?
Please, leave a comment, add to the discussion. Let's all work together and keep the death toll to a minimum!
I hate Zombies.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya John, they're a real pain. How can they still be alive after 5 slugs to the chest!? Even napalm just makes them more dangerous because they just keep moving after catching fire!
DeleteThey're an annoyance that needs to be addressed! As much as I hate zombies, I still really want to get my hands on a Zombie Viper, they're pretty sweet.
Gotta be prepared. I read a book last year about preparing yourself for the zombie apocalypse, The Zombie Survival Guide: Complete Protection from the Living Dead. Very good read.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a must for an survivalists library. I need to check this book out! I'm gonna read it and report my findings. Thanks!
DeleteThere's a class this year going on the Canvas Network taught by University professors on different subjects that pertain to the zombie apocalypse. I'm sure it'll be a great learning experience in getting prepared and understanding how to survive:

Finally, the public is taking this threat seriously! Can you believe this hasn't been taught in schools until recently? It really should be taught at the high school and elementary school ages. You can never be too prepared. Thanks Mike, good information!
