Sunday Reflections: New Year's Resolutions

Okay, it's that time of year again. The time of year when we all set new goals for the new year and always, WITH OUT FAIL, give up on all those New Year's resolutions by Valentine's Day.

Man, why can't I stick with it!? I can't even remember what goals I set for 2013. I eat horribly, I'm out of shape, totally unorganized, the house is a disaster, we're totally broke, and my "career path" is a train wreck! I need to stick with it this year! I know I said that last year, but this year is different!

What resolutions do you usually set? Do you stick with it and meet your goals? If so, how the heck did you do it!? What's your secret?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

  1. I always try and set goals for myself in the New Year but fail at them but hopefully this year i can hang tough and see them through.

  2. I don't consider this a resolution since I've already started...the hubby got me a 6 month membership to a local gym and I've already been twice. I was so excited and happy to go!

    1. It's smart to always be setting goals and way to go on the early start! I always wait right up until the bitter end of the year before I start keeping my resolutions.

Have a Happy New Year Lisa, and good luck with your workout goals. I myself have resolved to workout next year. I once had a one year gym membership and I only went a handful of times. Don't do what I did!

  3. When I was a younger lad I used to make 'resolutions' - but most often never made it past the first month. Though one time I gave up Dr. Pepper (well drinking 7 cans a day) and am still holding strong after 12 years. Now I make one resolution only: To make the coming year better than the last.

    1. I remember filling out worksheets entitled "New Year's Resolutions" with nothing but blank lines underneath. I had no idea what goals to set, let alone how to follow through on them.

Good job on kicking the Dr. Pepper habit. I'm going to cut back on my ice cream addiction next year. Can't get enough of the stuff!

May the coming year be better than the last. Happy New Year!
