Slime Winners

If you've been following the blog religiously then you may have caught a glimpse of the SLIMEUNION. As a party favor of sorts I decided to give away some Barrels-O-Slime to commemorate the moment. Here are our winners!

First Prize
Eric of Toyrrific!

Second Prize
John of The Clawful Punch!

I meant for there to be a third prize, but there were only two entrants! Either not many people saw the post or there is a general aversion to slime, or perhaps both?

Congratulations to our winners! Contact me at mason.john.allen@gmail.com and let me know what slime you want and where I should send the stuff. Remember, as our first prize winner, Eric gets first picks. Also, if you're reading this and you wish you had entered, then I may extend the give away a bit so we can have a third prize winner. Good luck!

Know Your Ghostbusters

This post is dedicated to my good friend, Michael, and his princess bride to be, Krista. May you two find happiness as you are married and sealed to one another this day for time and eternity. I wish you eternal life and exaltation in the life to come. Soon you will have big-headed children running around, and this will bring you great joy.

Congratulations!

Of all the creatures of the night I have to say ghosts are my favorite. So, obviously I am a big fan of Ghostbusters. Now, the average person doesn't know about the evolution of the Ghostbusters idea and if you are that average person, then this post is for you! And if you're not that average person then this post is still for you! Let's take a walk through Ghostbusters history.

Disney's The Lonesome Ghosts (1937)
I love this cartoon, classic Disney!

The Original Ghostbusters (1975)

This looks like some kooky fun. A little before my time.

Ghostbusters (1984)

Such an awesome movie. We had a copy on VHS that we recorded off of TV. I watched it all the time. I later found out that parts of the TV version of the movie dubbed over swear words and cut out a naughty ghost scene. I didn't mind at all, in my opinion, "I'll sue your 'funny face' for wrongful prosecution" sounds much funnier than the actual undubbed version of the movie.

Filmation's Ghostbusters (1986)
I never knew this show existed until a few years ago when I was researching a DI toy find. The intro is great, I wanna watch this series and get my hands on some of the toys.

The Real Ghostbusters (1986-1991)
One of the best cartoons ever! The toys were just as awesome.

Slimer and The Real Ghostbusters (1988)

I love Slimer, but this was just too much. Still a good show though.

I remember seeing this in theaters and I loved it. I know it's considered the lesser of the 2 movies, but I wasn't able to see the 1st movie in theaters, I was only a few months old when it came out.

Extreme Ghostbusters (1997)
I saw a few episodes of Extreme Ghostbusters. It just wasn't the same as its predecessor, but at least they tried.

Ghostbuster III

We can only hope Ghostbusters III comes out soon.

Well, thanks for watching kids! I hope you learned something new, and if you already knew all this
then you are a true Ghostbusters fan, congratulations! If you didn't know all this, well then, congratulations, you are now a true Ghostbusters fan! What is your favorite version of Ghostbusters? Let me know in the comments below!

I always keep an eye out for a steal on an arcade machine, full size or mini

I never owned anything from this line, but I would love to get my hands on some figures. As you know, I love bugs, so these are perfect!

Supernaturals
Another toy line I knew nothing about as a kid, but now I want 'em!

Army Ants
I actually had some of these back in the day, but they're all lost. Again, bugs.

The Inhumanoids toy line
I don't know how I never knew about the Inhumannoids cartoon show when I was younger. I would have loved it. The toys are just scary as all heck!

Mutant League toy line
This show cracked me up as a kid. In the intro you watch in horror as football players mutate into hideous monsters. The main character's flesh melts off his bones and he becomes Bones Justice. From then on they didn't play normal football, oh no, it was now the Mutant League! Tearing off limbs, or even decapitating your opponent was no longer considered a penalty, in fact it was encouraged. The show didn't last very long, I wonder why?

Mighty Max
The cool boy version of Polly Pockets! These were some awesome toys and my brother and I had some sets as kids. Of course, like most of my childhood toys, they're all gone and I want them back again!

Original Aurora Universal Monsters Models
All of them!

In general I look for monster, skeleton, alien, and robot figures of any kind.

That's all I can think of right now. I'm always on the look out for a lot of cool junk, so if there are any sweet Halloween related things I missed then please let me know in the comments below!

Also, if you have some of the above listed items and are willing to part with them or trade or something, then please contact me @ mason.john.allen@gmail.com

And if you have one of said items, but just can't part with it, then that's okay, I still wanna hear about it!

I'm not the only one searching for awesome stuff to add to the pile. Go check out these other amazing wish lists:

The Blue Meanies are coming! The Blue Meanies are coming!

This week’s assignment from the League: I’m feeling blue

It’s been a while since we’ve had a photo assignment for the weekly League of Extraordinary Blogger’s challenge. We’ve done green, and we’ve done red, so how about this time we do:
Blue.
Whoa, now I know I'm way late on this one and I went a little crazy, but heck, it sure was fun thinkin' of all the blue stuff I like!

When I thought of the color blue I immediately thought of the Blue Meanies from The Yellow Submarine movie. My Dad sent me a picture of one of his Yellow Submarine toys. It's George with a Blue Meanie!

What blue themed post is complete without any mention of Blue Laser, the Cheat Commandos sworn enemies. I'm really tempted to order some of these before homestarrunner.com disappears forever. I hope the Brothers Chaps are okay. Does anyone know what happened there?

Let's not forget my favorite superhero band The Aquabats! Someone really needs to create some action figures based on The Aquabats Super Show.

My beloved Captain Crunch T-shirt. The Cap'n cost me $10 plus 3 proofs of purchase. Totally worth it!

My favorite blue-haired Battle Troll, The Trollminator!

Something a little more cuddly, the blue Totoro!

Our brand spanking new local DI!

This Muppet Babies lunch box was under glass in the collectibles section of the DI. For just 5 bucks I had to pick it up! I love that show. It even still had a tag where it was priced at $20. My brother asked if I got it for Ava. I actually got it for myself, but I wasn't about to admit that. If Ava wants to use it when she's older she is certainly welcome to it. :)

Found this a while back at the DI for $5. Not only does it include The WoW Wrath of The Lich King Expansion, The original WoW and The Burning Crusade Expansion was also stuffed inside!

Blue Cosplayers at the Salt Lake Comic Con

I have no idea who this guy was supposed to be. He looked to be at least 60 years old. A guy that old still cosplaying? Awesome!

Don't ask why, but I wore my blue SPAM shirt to Comic Con. I went as SPAM Man. I really like SPAM.

The T.A.R.D.I.S.

Lastly, from the Dollar Store, we have...a blue...Thomas The Tank plush?...Good night everybody!

Is it weird that I wanna go bak to the Dollar Store and buy Thomas The Tank?

Now go check out the other amazing members of The League of  Extraordinary Bloggers that are feelin' blue:

The Goodwill Geek-You've gotta check out these awesome blue toys!

Boo bobby-What is blue, alien, and has a long nose? Find out here!

Monster Cafe and Bar-Ah yeah, some great blue themed memories here

Nerd Rage Against The Machine-Daft Punk, heck yeah!

Achievements in Gaming-blueness all around the world. Cool!

Stunt Zombie-Observe R2-D2 in his natural habitat!

Erik Johnson Illustrator-Amazing talent! Check out these great blue drawings!

Vikki Verka-Movies to make you feel blue

Neat Coolville-Cap'n Crunch, Charlie Tuna, Spock and more!!!

Diary of a Dorkette-More blue hair!
