Being a product of the 80s it's only natural that I love Saturday morning cartoons and cold cereal. Sometimes look up old toons to watch on YouTube on Saturday mornings so I can fully enjoy my favorites. I give you Mason's Top 10 Favorite Cereals!
10. Wheaties
Ah yeah, Wheaties! Not only is it good for you, but MJ eats it! Better eat your Wheaties, it's the breakfast of champions.

9. Rice Krispies Treats Cereal
8. Frosted Mini Wheats
Not the most popular choice and a lame commecial, but I still enjoy a bowl full to this day.
7. Peanut Butter Crunch
I love peanut butter and I love Peanut Butter Crunch, even though it kinda scraps me gums up sometimes. It's a two-edged sword.

I remember this commercial like it was on last Saturday morning. Classic.
6. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Now we're talkin', Cinnamon Toast Crunch ya'll! So good! I don't know what happened to the other Bakers, but the cereal is still going strong.

"Less sugar than I thought!" Ha ha ha, yeah right lady!
5. Lucky Charms
Technically a holiday themed cereal that can be enjoyed all year round! Heavily parodied commercial.

4. Rice Chex
Great cereal because Muddy Buddies and Peanuts commercials! Corn Chex are alright, but Wheat Chex are just plain nasty.

3. Crispix
One of those acquired tastes. Something about it just tickles my taste buds.

2. Kix
Another one of those kids-love-it-but-it's-okay-with-moms-cuz-it's-low-in-sugar cereals. I don't know why I like this one so much, it justs takes good and gives me warm fuzzies inside.

The Toy Cave: Before and After (I'm back!)
Since I've decided to come back into full activity here at DI Treasures, I thought it appropriate for me to reveal to you my Toy Cave. Now not every toy is on display, but I finally got everything all tidied up and looking beautiful, so I hope you enjoy the tour!
(It also so happens that this goes hand in hand with the current League Of Extraordinary Bloggers assignment "'Shelf' Expression"! So, I'm gonna combine the two. Yeah, I do that a lot. It's all good though, right?)
BEFORE:
| Not so pretty. |
AFTER:
| Fun new shelf. |
![]() |
| I found the perfect weapons for Frogacuda. |
![]() |
| Added a new Raisin to the band. |
| A colorful bunch, always ready for a fight. |
| With the Retro Duo Portable I can play all my NES and SNES carts on the go! My old school Nintendo collection is growing again little by little as I spot great deals at the DI. |
| Here's the old desk drawer shelf display I found a while back. |
![]() |
| Another new shelf, also a cheap DI grab. I really like this style of metal shelf. |

| Duplo Moon Bug |
| Monchichi anyone? |
Well, I hope you enjoyed my "shelf" expression. If you're still hungry for more then go check out these beautiful shelves:

Axe And You Shall Receive
Recently I initiated a trade with the one and only Goodwill Geek. I was reading about the most epic of all Goodwill finds (Check out the epic find HERE, it will blow your mind! Castle Grayskull anyone?) and I spotted 2 Masters Of The Universe maces were amongst the Geek's haul, so I asked if he'd trade me a spare mace for my blue He-Man axe and he kindly obliged.
Thank you Geek for the trade and thanks for making it fun! God bless you and Merry Christmas!
![]() |
| Moss Man can now better patrol the Shag Swamps with his trusty new silver mace. |
It could have ended there with a simple arms trade, but the Geek is a fun-loving guy and decided to mix things up a little. He suggested we also throw in 5 fun little things in addition to the He-Man weapon swap. It sounded like a good idea so I went with it. Check out the fun Christmasy extras he sent me! And while you're at it check out Derek's blog Goodwill Hunting For Geeks, the inspiration I needed to revive my little DI bargain hunting blog here, I learned from the best!
I was super happy to see the infamous ET game piece! I've been seeing a lot of this little guy traveling all trough cyberspace. ET's not just some game piece, the Goodwill Geek has started a great little tradition I like to call ETs Go Home.
It all started with the Geeks very first post! He discovered these 9 ET board game pieces and has been distributing them throughout the blog-o-sphere to other reputable bloggers. 1 ET found it's way to John of The Clawful Punch. I love John's blog! He has a lot of great stuff and his posts are always a ton o' fun to read. John is just an over all great guy and he's kind enough to frequent my humble little blog here! I sent him a Barrel-O-Slime and I was delighted to see a fun and clever post about it HERE. Be sure to check out The Clawful Punch today!

Another ET found it's way to Laura H. of Boo Bobby. I discovered Laura's blog via The Goodwill Geek and I liked what I saw! Her blog is full of charm and wit, a real joy to read! Her family is absolutely adorable and every post just lights up my day! It's kinda freaky and cool how many things we have in common! Be sure to check out Boo Bobby right now dang it!
| Laura's ET with space buddy Alf and friends |
I believe some other ETs may have made there way out there in cyberspace, bringing joy to good girls and boys. Geek, if you're reading this let me know if you have sent any ETs to others and I'll add there story here. Thanks!
And now yet another ET has reached my humble abode. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this fun little ET tradition. So "be good", I'm tellin' ya why, because ET is comin' home to you!

Now I know I'm supposed to avoid the Noid, but I love this PVC figure! The Noid is all decked out in his usual Christmas red. He's also sporting some niffty yellow shorts and boxing gloves. Kind of looks like a demented Strong Bad...COOL! I always got a kick out of the Dominos Noid commercials. I never really understood that ad campaign though. "Avoid the Noid?" So, when we think of Dominos pizza, we're supposed to think of avoidance? What the heck is a noid anyways? I know that's not what they were getting at, but that's what stuck in my mind as a kid. Whatever though, I'm no marketing expert. In fact, I think they should bring the Noid back, purely for the entertainment value. You just don't see claymation in commercials that much anymore!
Oh my freaking gosh, it's an OMFG! mini figure! I was really surprised to see this little guy! (Geek, you are too kind!) This here is King Castor from Series 1, in a very festive red. I've had my eye on the OMFG! mini figures ever since I found out about them on Weirdo Toys. OMFG! stands for Outlandish Mini Figure Guys! They started out as a kickstarter project that called on the talent of anyone that wanted to submit a toy design. Anyone that is part of the October Toys community can vote on their favorite design and the winners become the next set of OMFG! Right now the votes are in on Series 4. Check out these amazing figures and help support independent toy makers! If you like to shop retail instead of online I've seen OMFG! in Gray Whale stores.
Here is a nice Christmasy Green Lantern Power Ring! It goes perfectly with my Christmas Sunday best, right next to my CTR ring. Now I will always have the will to choose the right. I shall wear it with pride right along with my pins I got from The Trash Man at Pop Pop! It's Trash Culture!
Lastly, I received a jazzy California Raisin! My Dad collected the California Raisin PVC figures and he still has most of them, at least the ones I didn't claim and play with (steal) as a kid and subsequently lost. I should ask him if I can look through his collection. I remember this trumpet guy, he's pretty sweet! You may be wondering what a California Raisin has to do with Christmas. Well, watch the following video and find out!

On The 13th Day Of Creepmas...
This week’s assignment from the League: Watch Lists
Last week, we talked about our wish lists, this week let’s talk about our watch lists…
—
What’s on your Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, DVD, movie, TV watch list?
—
Maybe we can avert some disasters by our fellow League members.
On The 13th Day Of Creepmas my ghoul friend gave to me,
13 Creepmas movies!
12 slay bells tolling,
11 Which Ween costumes,
10 candy stab wounds,
8 Ghosts A Haunting,
7 Rat King's heads,
6 cards of evil,
5 SPIDER RINGS!
4 squawking crows,
3 ice skulls,
2 bloodshot eyes,
& arachnids in a pine tree!

6 cards of evil,
5 SPIDER RINGS!
4 squawking crows,
3 ice skulls,
2 bloodshot eyes,
& arachnids in a pine tree!
13. Casper's Haunted Christmas on Netflix (So bad it's not good!)
This movie was so straight to video it hurts! The first Casper movie was alright. The second was pretty awful, so it's not like the 3rd movie could get any worse, right? I was so wrong, it's worse, so much worse. Why is this movie on my list then you might ask? Because I had to think of 13 Creepmas movies. Don't worry, the remaining 12 movies are actually at least pretty good, I promise.
12. Babes In Toyland for VHS (1986)
This movie is pure cheese, but I kinda love it because I watched it with my family when I was a kid. We always got a kick out of the low-budget quality of the film. It stars a young Drew Barrymore, Keanu Reeves, and Richard Mulligan as Barnaby Barnicle. We always got a kick out the scenes with that freaky one-eyed bird thing.
11. The Hog Father on Netflix
10. A Muppet Christmas Carol
Not at all scary, but there are ghosts and who doesn't love the Muppets!?
9. Santa Claus on Youtube (MST3K)
Watch as jolly old Saint Nick tries to deliver Christmas gifts whilst thwarting Old Nick's evil plans. If that sounds boring, don't worry because some guy and his 2 robot buddies, Crow and Tom Servo, poke fun at the movie the whole time and even take little breathers from the awful film.
8. How The Ghosts Stole Christmas on Netflix (The X-Files, Season 6)
7. The Worst X-Mas Ever on DVD (The last episode of Invader Zim)
Zim invades Christmas in an attempt to destroy all humans. GIR sings carols and Dib gets beat up again!
6. X-mas Story, A Tale of Two Santas, and The Futurama Holiday Spectacular on Netflix (Futurama)
Santa Claus is not so jolly in the future. Santa was replaced by a robot and his standards are way to high, so bolt the locks and stay indoors because Santa kills tonight! Also featuring Kwanza Bot!
5. Gremlins
A Creepmas classic!
4. The Harry Potter Movies on DVD
The Harry Potter movie series is just perfect for Creepmas! They all have a Halloweeny and at the same time Christmasy feel to them. It's crazy seeing how much Harry and the gang grow up throughout the course of the films!
3. The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe on DVD
You know it's gonna be a dark Christmas when Santa Claus hands out weapons for Christmas!
2. Edward Scissor-Hands
Another Creepmas classic! A wonderful story about a misunderstood misfit that makes it snow every Christmas.
1. The Nightmare Before Christmas on Netflix
Maybe this one's obvious, but this is the only film that I can honestly say is the number 1 Creepmas classic! Every year The Nightmare Before Christmas music is streaming through my head and I love it!

My Favorite Turkey
This week’s assignment from the League: Let’s talk turkey
I don’t know if anyone is around this week since it’s Thanksgiving and all, but if you are, let’s have a little fun with this week’s assignment for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers…
—
What a turkey!
—
REMEMBER!: The League is always open to new members! Got a blog? Write a post in response to the weekly challenge, and you’ll be included. It’s that easy!
Before I get started I just have to say Turkey Kramer is SO DANG CREEPY! Just look at him! Gives me the jibblies!
Now, let's get to talking about my favorite turkey, the mischievous, the lovable, Mr. Bean! (The dude with the turkey on his head reminded me of the Mr. Bean Christmas turkey scene)
As I've said before, I'm a big fan of British comedy and Mr. Bean is the king of British comedy! I have PBS to thank for discovering many a great British show; such as Dr. Who, Keeping Up Appearances, The Black Adder, and of course, Mr. Bean. I even tried dressing up as Mr. Bean for Halloween one year. No one knew who I was supposed to be. I get that a lot with my Halloween costume choices.
![]() |
| That's me on the far left as Mr. Bean for Halloween. |
But let's get serious. Where did this Mr. Bean character come from? Watch and listen as Rowan Atkinson shares the interesting, not so funny story of Mr. Bean's creation. Watch in childlike wonder as David Bowie analyses Mr. Bean! Also, find out whether or not Mr. Bean is really an extraterrestrial being.
Now wasn't that just delightful? Don't bugger off just yet, first check out these other extraordinary League members!
The Goodwill Geek shares his family's Top 10 Favorite Children's Thanksgiving Books, listed in order of Turkey-centricity!

Sunday Reflections: What Are You Thankful For?
This week’s assignment from the League: Gee, thanks.
We took a week off for a sanity break on my part, but now it’s time to get back to business! This week’s assignment for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers…
—
Next week, we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for this year?
—
REMEMBER!: The League is always open to new members! Got a blog? Write a post in response to the weekly challenge, and you’ll be included. It’s that easy!
This exact same topic was gonna be my next Sunday Reflection, so why not combine the two?You know I love a good list, so here goes!
MASON'S TOP 10 THINGS HE'S THANKFUL FOR LIST OF THANKFULNESS!
10. TOYS!
Can you imagine a world without toys? It would be a dark world indeed! We'd all just collect things like stamps, spoons, and thimbles and those are fine things to collect, but man, no toys would be BORING! I'd still have my movies, video games, tabletop games, cards, candy, and cereal, but there would be a huge void in my life without good old toys!
9. MUSIC!
As bad as a life without toys would be, a life without music would be a billion times worse! When I'm not actually listening to music it's still playing in my mind. My whole life is set to movie and video game soundtracks. When I'm doing something exciting, like scrubbing out my toilet, you can guarantee video game music will be blasting to make it that much more exciting and enjoyable. Video game music is also a great way to relive my glory days when I don't have time to play the games themselves.
8. Cereal and Candy!
Man, I love cereal! I honestly think that if it weren't for cereal I may very well have starved to death in my teen years, because that's all I ate! A close second to cereal is candy. Utahns are infamous for their sweet tooths (or is it sweet teeth?) and I'm certainly not exempt from that! I love PEZ dispensers, fancy soda pop and novelty candy tins (though the candy is usually terrible). I'm also a chain gum chewer. My brand is Orbit.

7. Food!
I'm especially thankful for food stuffs around Thanksgiving. Turkey, mashed potatoes n' gravy with peas mixed in, yams, green beans, you name it I love it. What do you eat for Turkey Day?

6. Holidays!
I really really like holidays, especially the big 3, Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. I love the traditions, decorating, partying with family and friends and wondering what the heck eggs and ducks have to do with Easter.
5. America The Beautiful
I am so grateful I live in such a beautiful, free nation! America truly is one nation, under God. It's the new Zion.
4. The League of Extreordinary Bloggers, followers, and Other Wonderful Bloggers!
I am totally overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of this little community. The gifts, prizes, trades, kind words and more make me feel so blessed and welcome. Thank you all so much! I am truly thankful!
3. Friends New and Old
I love all my friends like family, because, after all, we're all children of God and that makes us family. My favorite aspect of collecting is meeting new friends. I could lose every single thing I've collected over the years and it would suck, but it's no big deal as long as I still have my friends.
2. My Beautiful Family
2. My Beautiful Family
We recently celebrated my 30th birthday and I had a blast! My entire family was able to attend the Halloween themed Birthday party and it was grand. I love my family, they're so good to me, I don't deserve it, but I appreciate them so much.
1. God's Ultimate Gift To Man, The Atonement
Without it I'd be darned to heck for all eternity, we all would! Jesus Christ suffered all that we might be washed clean and be found worthy to return to live with Him. I can never fully repay Him and I will always fall short. But through His grace anything is possible. For this I am eternally grateful!
I'm not the only thankful one this Thanksgiving. Go check out these other thankful bloggers.
Our newest League member, Retro Robot! Welcome!

Fantasy Shopping Frenzy!
This week’s assignment from the League: Hake’s Auction #210 Shopping Spree!
It’s become somewhat of a regular feature here, which is great because I personally can’t think of a more fun activity than browsing auction catalogs filled with pop culture gems. This week’s assignment for the League of Extraordinary Bloggers…
—
You won the lottery and bought Tony Stark’s mansion, but the rec room could use a little help in the redecorating department after all the renovations. Lucky for you, Hake’s Americana & Collectibles just announced their latest auction. Check out the catalog and go on a fictional shopping spree to set up the ultimate cave of collectibles.
—
Hake’s has given us permission to reuse their photos and descriptions in our responses to this week’s League challenge, just be sure to link back to their auction. One blog entry will be selected to receive $100 credit to spend at Hake’s! Good luck everyone!
As a new leaguer this is my very first fantasy shopping spree. I've never checked out Hake's Americana &Collectibles, so let's see what they've got that tickles my fancy.
Vintage Robots!
One of my holy grails of collectibles would be a nice vintage robot toy, so if I won the lottery I buy every single one! Here are my favorites:
![]() |
| (Source) |
Now, the cool thing about this book, Robot by Pierre Boogaerts, is that my Dad owns a copy! It's a really nice book to have if you don't have loads of cash to spend on vintage wind-up robot toys. I was actually thinking of posting about it soon so stay tuned for that.
![]() |

Gotta get me an Action Planet Robot! This guy's so cool!
![]() |
| (Source) |
This guy's just classic, gotta have 'im!
Peanuts!
I love comic strips and Peanuts is one of my all time favorites. These are definitely going in the cart!
![]() |
| (Source) |
These little figurines are like Precious Moments, only cooler and way more valuable.
Beautiful Little Dead Things!
If you know me well then you know I love dead things. Taxidermy, entomology specimens, skulls, skeletons, and most of all fossils. I have always wanted to own a legitimate fossil, so these beautiful specimens are definitely coming home with me.

Now, I've probably seen almost every episode of the Golden Girls, but I don't really care to have a signed picture of them. I just thought it was kinda funny that this item was categorized under the "Fossils and Minerals" section!
PEZ!
You know I love PEZ, so I'd snatch up every last dispenser they have! Here are my favorites:

Spaceman PEZ!
![]() |
| (Source) |
A couple of nice Witch PEZ dispensers.
![]() |
| (source) |
Gotta love these PEZ Pals! They kinda look like Elmer Fudd incognito.
MEGO!
Man, MEGO figures! I have always wanted to own at least one MEGO figure. I would snatch up every single figure! Here are my favorites:
![]() |
| (Source) |
The name's Bond, MEGO Bond.
![]() |
| (Source) |
Awww yeah, MEGO Batman!
![]() |
| (Source) |
Just look at this guy, he's just amazing! To own this would be unreal!
I'm gonna have to stop myself there, this list could go on and on and on and on. What would you get? Here's what other Leaguers would grab:
The Mayor of Neato Coolville wants some monstrous and out-of-this-world swag!
Dex of AEIOU And Sometimes Why scopes out some haunting treasures.
Check out monsters, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Spy vs Spy at Grey's blog, Achievements In Gaming.
