Ready or not, here it comes, Ghostbusters 3! Are you excited, nervous, angry? Only time will tell what I think about the movie, but until then I will discuss it to death!
I'm totally with The Black Nerd on this! Why couldn't the all female Ghostbusters team exist inside the current Ghostbusters universe? They could easily be a Ghostbusters franchise in another area! There could be an awesome training video featuring the original Ghostbusters team, similar to the commercial in the first movie (perfect cameo!). The possibilities are endless!
Anyways, what do all of you think of GBIII? Tell me in the comments below!
Yeah too early to tell but the cast is not so cool. I could live without a reboot.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they're really just after the money. I ended up watching the TMNT reboot once it came out on Netflix and that's what I might do with GBIII.
DeleteWhat I would really like is a The Real Ghostbusters reboot! (I don't count the Extreme Ghostbusters)
I am really excited about the reboot, although I wish it was within the same universe. Like I loved in Jurassic World that throughout there were subtle nods and homages to the original.
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the idea of it taking place in an alternate universe. I'm still not sold on the entire cast though. Leslie Jones, for example, tends to be one of the weaker SNL cast members, while I find Melissa McCarthy is better when she plays a "straight" character, like she does on Mike and Molly. And really, I think that's why the previous films worked. They played it straight. The guys had their quirks, but for the most part, it was a somewhat serious movie. It didn't rely on toilet humor as much as current comedies do.
ReplyDeleteStill, if it looks like they're doing something new and original with the franchise, I might be willing to break my rule against going to see comedies in a theater.
